Perisher Ski Patrol is a registered charity that relies
exclusively on donations and other fund-raising to
provide the completely free emergency
first-aid and rescue services in and around Perisher,
Guthega, Smiggin Holes and Blue Cow.
Benefits of Sponsorship
Firstly, it makes you feel good and sleep better knowing
that you have contributed to the well-being of the
people in your community. Secondly, every donation over
$2 is tax deductible to you, your lodge or your company.
Finally, you know that your donation contributed to
upgrading and improving the mountain safety for the
benefit of you, your family and friends. In 2008, the
sponsorship money helped replenish all the first aid
equipment and medical gases and additionally we were
able to purchase rescue equipment, a light weight
backboard for distance rescues and renew the specialist
batteries that power our defibrillators (heart
starters).
Why sponsor?
Every donation helps: from buying one of our annual
raffle tickets to being a corporate or private sponsor.
All the money goes directly to making Perisher, Guthega, Smiggin Holes and Blue Cow a safer and more enjoyable
place for all to enjoy. You donate and we put it all
back into the safety of the mountain.

What do with do with your donation?
We deliver free medical treatment to anyone injured or
in need in the Perisher area. We evacuate over 4000
people a season and provides a range of services
including accident prevention, skier and snowboard
safety and excellent first-aid, including casualty
transportation to the Perisher Medical Centre. Through
the Medical Centre there are links with local and
interstate hospitals and helicopter transport. Rescue
activities provided by the Perisher Ski Patrol are able
to be provided without charge because of the voluntary
nature of the organisation.
Perisher Ski Patrol is a community based volunteer
association that works in full cooperation with the
Perisher Resort's own group of full time Ski Patrollers.
Perisher is a fully independent Association setting high
training standards and maintaining these standards
through a re-certification system for its volunteer
members. The patrol provides services within the resort
but is also available to assist the NSW Police and
National Parks and Wildlife Services in search and
rescue outside the resort boundaries whenever required.
We provide our own specialist medical and first aid
equipment, such as defibrillators, oxygen, sleds,
radios, skidoos, resuscitation equipment and splints,
the cost of which is met by contributions from various
generous sponsors and donations. Usually the Perisher
Ski Patrol needs to supplement its funding through other
revenue generating activities such as raffles for which
prizes are sought from supporters and friends of the
patrol. Perisher Ski Patrol adheres to strict health
protocols which require the use of single use, sterile
bandages and equipment which means that the assistance
provided has a significant cost associated with it.
With increasing compliance costs and the increasing cost
of first aid supplies (bandages, oxygen and Penthrane
(an analgesic pain relieving medicine), Perisher Ski
Patrol is under mounting pressure to raise more funds in
order to continue providing its excellent levels of
service to Perisher's skiers, boarders, visitors and the
community in general.
The prizes include overseas ski holidays, airfares, ski and snowboarding equipment, season lift passes, cameras and clothing. The specific prize list is on the ticket.
You've got to be in it to win it. You can download the order form during the ski season and use your credit card to make your purchase.
Whilst we can't guarantee you'll win a prize, we can guarantee that you'll be helping your friends, family and community be a safer place. Good luck and thank you.
